He received his professional education at the Riga Secondary School of Applied Arts in the Department of Woodworking (1966–1970) and the Head of the Painting Department of the Art Academy of Latvia (1976–1982), which was promised by his diploma work "The New Way", led by Vladimir Kozin. Member of the Artists' Union of Latvia since 1990. Member of Tukums artists' group since 1978. Participates in exhibitions since 1978. More than 30 solo exhibitions have been held. The most significant of these: Riga, Knowledge House (1985), Tukums Museum (1988, 1993, 1998, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2008), Riga, Museum of Foreign Art (1989), Riga, French Embassy (1993), Riga, gallery "Daugava" (1994, 1999), salon "Māksla" (2008), Talsi Museum (2009). He has participated in 20 art exhibitions in Riga. and in group exhibitions of Latvian artists in Tbilisi, Georgia (1984), Hamburg, Germany (1991), Schösel, Germany (1993, etc., Works are located in the collection of the Latvian National Museum of Art, the Artists' Union of Latvia Museum, the Tukums Museum, private collections in Latvia and the world.
