He received his professional education at the Riga Secondary School of Applied Arts in the Department of Decorative Sculpture (1974) and the Department of Sculpture of the Art Academy of Latvia (1980). In the environment of Riga city, a monument created by a sculptor to the master Kārlis Padegs, artist Voldemārs Irbe, The Mayor of Riga Armsted, etc. The sculptor lives and works in Valmiera, where he organized sculpture symposiums for ten years, works as an educator at the art school. Participates in exhibitions from 1976. More than 20 exhibitions outside Latvia – munich (Germany, 1994), Aarhus (Denmark, 1995), Madrid and Paris (1996), Strasbourg (1997) and others Honorary Member of the Latvian Academy of Sciences since 2003. Awarded with the highest award of the Republic of Latvia to the Order of the Three Stars. The works are located in the collection of the Latvian National Museum of Art, the Collection of the Artists' Union of Latvia, the Talsi District Museum, the Cēsis History and Art Museum, the Valmiera Museum, the Tartu Art Museum. In private collections in Latvia and worldwide.
