She received her professional education in the Janis Rozentals Riga Art High school (1972) and in the Monumental Painting Department of the Latvian Art Academy (1978). In 2003 she received a Master’s degree. She has been contributing to exhibitions since 1974 and is a member of the Latvian Artists Union since 1982. She has also done book illustrations, posters,wall paintings and puppet movies. She has participated in the Latvian and international art exhibitions in Riga, Moscow, Vilnius, Paris, Strasbourg, Brussels, Zvolle, Nuremberg, Rauma and elsewhere. Her solo shows were in Riga and Hamburg (1988), San Francisko (1991), New-York (1996, 1998, 2000), Askona(2003). She received the Annual Award of the Latvian Artists’ Union for the exhibition Metropolis, in Riga, 1999, the Gold Medal of the Artists’ Union and the title of the Artist of the Year in 2001. Her artworks can be found in the collections of the Latvian National Art Museum, the State Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow, as well as in private collections in Latvia and abroad.
