Ieva Iltnere

She received her professional education in the Riga Applied Art school (1976) and in the Painting Department of the Latvian Art Academy, from where she graduated from with a gold medal. Her graduation painting „The First Schools in Vidzeme” was  guided by Prof. Indulis Zariņš. She continued to perfect her skills in Prof.Eduards Kalniņš’ Creative Studio (1983 – 1987). Her artworks can be found in the public collections of the Latvian National Art Museum, Jane Voorhees Zimmerli Art Museum in the USA, Ludwig museum in Germany. European Central Bank in Germany, the State Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow and private collections in Latvia and abroad. She is a member of the Latvian Artists’ Union ( 1983)and has been contributing to exhibitions since 1977. Since 1998 she is an assistant professor in the Painting Department of the Latvian Art Academy.
