Maija Nora Tabaka

She received her professional education in the Graphic Art Department of the Latvian Art Academy (1957 – 1959) and in the Painting Department of Prof. Eduards Kalnins’ Master Studio (1965 – 1969). From 1977 to 1978 she worked in West Berlin as a recipient of a scholarship from the German Academic exchange service . Her artworks can be found in the collections of National Art Museum of Latvia, the Latvian Artists’Union, the State Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow and in many private collections in Latvia and abroad. In 2000 she received the highest award of Latvia, the Three-Star Order. In 2021 she received V.Purvitis’ award for the life-time contribution to art.
