Māra Vaičunas
1949 - 2019
She received her professional education in the Department of Applied Decorative Arts of the Art Academy of Latvia, in 1976 she defended her diploma work – ceramic wall panno for Valmiera milk factory. In the 2nd half of the 1970s, painting was encouraged by the artist Felicita Pauļuka, who had a significant impact on Māra Vaičuna's understanding of painting. Since 1978 participates in exhibitions, since 1996 member of the Artists' Union of Latvia. From 1991 to 2017 methodologist at the Education Centre of the Art Academy of Latvia. The works are located in the collection of the Latvian National Museum of Art, the collection of the Artists' Union of Latvia, the Tukums Museum, private collections in Latvia and worldwide.
