She received her professional education in the Janis Rozentals Riga Art High school (1976), in the Monumental Painting Department of the Latvian Art Academy (1982) and continued to perfect her skills at Prof. E. Kalniņš Creative Master Studio of the Art Academy. She has been contributing to exhibitions since 1985. Active in painting and book illustration, she has done several animated cartoons (Tortoises, 1987; Trumpeter of Tālava, 1988). Her artworks can be found in the collections of the exhibition hall Arsenals of the Latvian National Art Museum, the Latvian Artists’ Union, the Latvian Contemporary Art museum, the State Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow, Ludwig museum in Ahen as well as in private collections in Latvia and abroad. She was awarded a diploma at the Baltic Republics Young Artists exhibition in Vilnius (1982), received the Latvian Komsomol premium at the 12th All-Union Youth and Students Festival in Moscow (1986), received the Big Kristaps for the animated cartoon Tortoises (1988) and nominated for Purvitis’ Award for her solo show in Riga (2012).
