Dramaturgy of Landscape. Act 2

3.08.2022 - 17.09.2022

Dramaturgy is a kind of literature in the form of conversation. Landscape painting is the artist’s talk to nature, isn’t it?  It is an indisputable truth that we should paint only that cannot be rendered verbally or in writing. We can’t deny that landscape results from a dialogue between artist and nature where artist has a chance to show his attitude, feelings, reflections and message. Art history has proved that landscape can include  the widest  range of  moods and emotions. Nowadays  nature  is artist’s  source of inspiration as well, but it is more than that: it is an interlocuter to the artist on the eternal issues of „what am I?.. where do I go?...” or perhaps just a mere impression,a grasp of a moment, but, anyway, it will include a message. Act 1 of the „Dramaturgy of Landscape” in the gallery „Daugava” took place in July. Act 2 will start on August 3 and include the artworks of Andris Eglītis, Līga Purmale, Dace Lielā, Frančeska Kirke, Maija Tabaka, Aleksejs Naumovs and Aija Zariņa.

Act 2 of „Dramaturgy of Landscape” in the gallery „Daugava” will be on display up to September 17.
