On February 24, gallery DAUGAVA opens the renowned Latvian painter Biruta Delle’s latest artwork exhibition „My Mountain” presenting 12 canvases created for her jubilee exhibition.
The artist’s style allows us to infallibly recognize her paintings in the overall art scene, yet each display reveals new nuances in Delle’s art, both in subject and expression. This show is not an exception – the new artworks are bright and full of energy,unified by a gently sloping hill motif. The composition is made in various tones with never missing Dellian branching trees and a man within them as the central image. Mostly on his own (though not always) he is moving in the areas of sunlight and shadows that form his space of life. although describable in words, the painted scenes are saturated with surreal, violent feelings that seem light and hope inspiring. The palette of artworks in this exhibition has moved towards light violet pink and golden-russet , which provides new information about the artist herself.
