For Osvalds Zvejsalnieks whose career spans over 40 years, painting is both his work and life. The paintings displayed in his solo-exhibition titled “Spain” document the artist’s impressions of his several trips to Spain from 2010 till 2015. Zvejsalnieks’ use of bright colours, bold contrasts and dynamic brushstrokes create almost abstract images, which, by taking a closer look, reveal palm trees, architecture, skies, the Mediterranean sea and much more.
