Juta Rindina

Vase

05.10.2016 - 19.11.2016

Juta Rindina (b. 1953, Riga) is a Latvian ceramics artist whose work is both decorative and narrative. Her handmade ceramic items often have a sculptural quality, as their surface is adorned with a variety of anthropomorphic and zoomorphic shapes or, as displayed in this exhibition, different symbols and characters. Rindina’s work reflects her beliefs and visions of the spritual life – the richer it is, the more multi-layered becomes the portrayal of these images. Her objects should not be considered as simply applied arts – instead, they are more of a real visual experience.
